The idea

A coral snake wears bold colors, with dark bands between them.

GMK Coral Snake is inspired by that pop of natural color and its pattern. It uses honey and wine on a deep black-blue, with the snake's bands running along the function row. Good Egg is a one-person design studio, and this is my first set.

A snake along the top row

The function row wears the snake's bands, honey between wine and black from Esc to F12. It's in the base kit, so every board with a function row gets the snake.

Shed Skin

The add-on I'm most excited about. Coral-snake rings coil through the alphas and bend with the stagger, like a snake curving across the board. Each ring has a ghost legend, a shade lighter than its cap.

Novelties

They follow the natural theme in a woodcut style. An egg-eater Enter with the egg still going down, dripping fangs, an ouroboros, a hatchling cracking out of its shell.

Three colors

Black blue, wine red and honey yellow, the warning colors of the coral snake. Honey legends on the dark caps, black-blue legends on honey.

Where is Coral Snake now?

Its first round of community feedback is open now on communikeys. Say which kits you'd buy and which spacebars you want, or leave a comment on any key, and the answers decide what goes to the group buy. Give feedback on communikeys, or join the email list to hear when the group buy opens.

Will it fit my board?

Base alone covers 60% to full size and 1800, plus Tsangan and WKL bottom rows. It also has the ISO Enter, 1.25u Shift and extra ISO keys, with US legends. It has the 6u spacebar for HHKB and the split spacebars for Alice and other ergo boards, so no add-on is needed to finish a board.

Why GMK?

GMK's doubleshot ABS keys have legends molded in a second color of plastic, so they never wear off. All three colors are RAL references. GMK has matched black blue and wine red before; honey yellow is a new match for this set. The fine detail on the novelties and the optional coral spacebar is UV-printed instead, and printed art can wear with heavy use.

What's the UV-printed spacebar?

An optional coral snake spacebar with the bands printed on as real scales. It stays tentative until GMK samples the print and the vote says people want it. Printed art can wear with heavy use.

What if a kit doesn't sell enough?

Each kit needs a minimum number of orders in the group buy. A kit that misses it isn't made, and it comes off your order. The interest check itself is a free poll; no money changes hands.

Where can I buy it?

Vendors in each region run the group buy, after the interest check. They're being lined up now, and the email list hears first.

When will prices and dates be set?

After the interest check, once the kits are final and GMK and the vendors confirm a slot. Join the email list to hear first.
